Dam Efficiency & Impoundment Retrofits

In the United States, Hydroelectric power generation is a story of wasted energy and old technology. An inefficient Dam does not extract all the potential energy available, and unclaimed energy is lost forever.

Presently, Hydroelectric is already the largest producer of renewable energy. Energy that is produced with Hydroelectric generation is the most valuable energy solution available. It is renewable, consistent, highly controllable, and matches peak grid requirements, without the need for batteries. 

A Hydroelectric system can operate 24 hours a day, and 7 days a week.

From an efficiency and output perspective, Hydroelectric turbines produce far more energy than similar sized Solar Farms (megawatt for megawatt capacity), and the type of energy is a far more valuable solution to the USA grid system.

The fact is, there is massive energy capability that exists in the USA, and it is highly inefficient, and not presently being utilized. The retrofitting of Dams with new technology and added turbine systems will create a massive and immediate energy solution to offset the Climate Crisis.

It is not necessary to build new dams and impoundments. Most impoundments in the USA are presently not generating energy, and simply need to be retrofitted. This process can be done at a rate that far outpaces other forms of energy development, including solar.
